Regatta Professional announced as Official Clothing Supplier to Veloce Racing
Veloce Racing has announced a partnership with leading outdoor clothing brand Regatta Professional, as the company prepares to equip team members with versatile, durable and hard-wearing attire to withstand the intense conditions they will face during the inaugural season of Extreme E.
Over the coming months, the all-electric SUV motor racing championship will visit some of the harshest and most inhospitable environments on the planet, from Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest to the ‘end of the world’ in Patagonia, and Regatta will supply Veloce Racing with technical outerwear, tops, bottoms and accessories.
One of Veloce Racing’s key pillars is sustainability and making a positive environmental impact, which aligns perfectly with Regatta's Honesty Project which covers their commitment to sustainable and ethical product sourcing, focus on reduction of carbon output as well as the Regatta Professional Honestly Made range which uses 100% recycled fabric, from which several pieces of Veloce kit will be made.
Not only that, but Regatta branding will also adorn the drivers’ race suits and team kit, as the brand joins TW Steel, ART Grand Prix and ALLCOT Group as a team partner for 2021.
The inaugural Extreme E X Prix will be held in AlUla, Saudi Arabia (3-4 April), followed by rounds in Dakar, Senegal (29-30 May), Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (28-29 August), Para, Brazil (23-24 October) and Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia (11-12 December). The series’ innovative floating paddock – the St. Helena – set sail for Saudi Arabia earlier this week.
Daniel Bailey, CEO, Veloce Racing, commented:
“It’s fantastic to have yet another amazing partner on-board for the first season of Extreme E. Regatta Professional just seemed like the perfect fit for us with its eco-friendly range of clothing and selection of premium quality outerwear – we couldn’t think of anyone better!
“We will be travelling to some of the most extreme outposts in the world and experiencing the kinds of conditions few of us have ever encountered before, so to be collaborating with a company like Regatta that specialises in equipping people for just such situations makes total sense.
“We’re starting to ramp things up ahead of the season-opener in Saudi Arabia. To finally see the car loaded onto the St. Helena and heading for its first destination is hugely exciting. The team is prepared and so are the drivers, so we can’t wait to get this season underway!”
Anthony Haber, Managing Director, Regatta Professional, added:
“This is going to be a great adventure for Regatta Professional. Extreme E is unquestionably one of the most intriguing and innovative racing series out there, which makes it the perfect place to make use of our outdoor clothing. Conditions in the locations Veloce Racing will be visiting are just what our outerwear was designed for!
“We’re all really excited to announce this partnership – the first of its kind for us – and we’re really looking forward to going racing this year.”
